Hostaway

The Hostaway integration imports your listings as properties and sends property expenses to Hostaway, coded with a Hostaway expense category.

Connect Hostaway

1. In Hostaway, find your Account ID and create an API key for Accountable.
2. In Accountable, go to Settings > Integrations > Property Management and click Get Started.
3. Choose Hostaway and enter your Account ID and API Key.
4. Submit. You'll see "Hostaway configuration enabled."
5. Go to Properties and click Import Properties.

A Hostaway review queue appears under Accounting.

Coding a Hostaway expense

1. Open a property transaction in Transactions or the Hostaway review queue.
2. Choose a Hostaway Category. Search by category name.
3. Click Mark Ready, then sync from the queue.

To let field staff choose the category themselves, add the Hostaway Category field to your receipt link in Settings > Account > Transaction Links.

Split transactions

When a purchase covers several listings, split it. Each property line becomes its own expense on the right listing in Hostaway. See Splitting a transaction.

Settings that apply

• Skip Business Transactions keeps business expenses out of the Hostaway queue.
• Include Merchant in Synced Expense Transaction and Include Date in Synced Expense Transaction add context to the expense description owners see.
• Automatically Import Properties Daily keeps your listing list current.

Common issues

• "Hostaway configuration failed": check the Account ID and API key, and that the key hasn't been revoked.
• A listing is missing: click Import Properties again.
• A transaction won't sync: make sure it has a property and a category. See Fixing sync errors.

Tip: Use accounting rules and the receipt link together so most expenses arrive already categorized.
