Connect Buildium

  1. In Buildium, create API credentials for Accountable.
  2. In Accountable, go to Settings > Integrations > Property Management and click Get Started.
  3. Choose Buildium and enter your Client ID and Client Secret.
  4. Submit. You'll see "Buildium configuration enabled."
  5. Go to Properties and click Import Properties.

A Buildium review queue appears under Accounting.

Coding a Buildium expense

Open a property transaction in Transactions or the Buildium review queue and set:

  • Buildium GL Account
  • Buildium Vendor
  • Buildium Work Order, if the purchase was for a specific job

Then click Mark Ready and sync.

Split transactions

Split a purchase that covers several properties. Each line can carry its own property and Buildium GL Account, and becomes its own bill line. See Splitting a transaction.

Common issues

  • "Buildium configuration failed": check the Client ID and Client Secret, and that the API key is active in Buildium.
  • A vendor is missing: add the vendor in Buildium first, then pick it in Accountable.
  • A transaction won't sync: make sure it has a property, GL account, and vendor.

Tip: Turn on Skip Business Transactions if your Buildium books should only include property expenses.
